Y Weight Loss Program
The Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA will begin offering a Weight Loss Program for those who are interested in jump starting a life change! To participate in the program you must be 18 years or older. The program is 12 weeks long and meets once per week. Participants will gain tools and knowledge as well as have group support to help develop a nutrition and exercise plan that works for each individual!
When: Sessions begin September 20th at 5:30pm
Where: Downtown YMCA, SOS Conference Room
Cost: $50 for members, $100 for non-members
Personal Training is one-on-one sessions with a personal trainer. During these sessions, the trainer will assist you to achieve your goals. Sessions can focus on strength training, cardiovascular training, yoga, Pilates & much more.

Group Exercise Classes
From traditional aerobic classes to Zumba, the YMCA offers a variety of classes to engage those who want to get their work out in a social, group format. Classes are listed below. Not all classes are available at all locations.
Life Changing Challenge
With the help of a certified YMCA Wellness Coach, you will establish your goals, track your results, earn points, build relationships and earn bonus rewards. Points can be earned by working out at any YMCA, taking a group exercise class, swimming, walking, jogging, enjoying your favorite sport, exercising on your own, attending appointments with your coach and MUCH more. The more you do, the quicker you accumulate point and the faster you receive bonus rewards. Our Y will help you stay accountable and motivated, remove barriers to success, achieve your results and change your life. Starting a new wellness routine is not easy, but the Y’s Life Changing Challenge is here to simplify the process. Based on scientific research, this program incorporates goal setting, fitness nutrition into a 21-day program designed to help you achieve long-term results. Available for Y Members only.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA, a program for cancer survivors and those currently undergoing treatment, focuses on you- the whole person- not the disease. This free 12-week program meets twice a week for 90 minutes, using traditional exercise methods to ease you back into fitness and help you maintain a healthy mind, body, and spirit. You’ll also learn about wellness, stress reduction and how to continue healthy habits after the program has ended. We encourage a warm spirit of community and provide a place for you to build friendships with others affected by cancer and an opportunity to share stories and inspiration.

Youth & Teens
Youth Orientation is a free class for members ages 8 – 15. Participants will meet with a Wellness Coach to learn the fundamentals of cardio training, machine introduction, and gym etiquette. Youth that successfully complete Orientation Program will earn permission to utilize the Fitness Floor.
- Students must attend an orientation in order to receive a membership card.
- Students must participate 100%
- All students must wear athletic shoes at all times. No sandals or crocs allowed.
- After completing all sessions, students must follow the same rules and procedures when using the fitness equipment on their own.
- Students will be instructed to lift only safe amount of weight. No competitive lifting!! To prevent injuries, parents should encourage this even after orientation is completed.
- No running or horseplay in or around fitness center.
- Anyone caught outside of these guidelines will be verbally warned on the first offense, the second offense will be cause for suspension of fitness center privileges for up to one year.
- YMCA lanyards and membership cards must be visibly displayed at all times upon completion of the orientation.
