Active older adults can gain strength and energy while enjoying a variety of social events at the YMCA. Activities range from group exercise classes designed especially for seniors to pot-luck lunches or special trips. Becoming an active older adult at the YMCA means staying connected to your community and offers the opportunity to volunteer through YMCA programs or in committee positions.
- Free Square Dancing every Friday at 1:00 pm in Studio A -Breaking for summer, will resume in September
- Lunch and a movie every Friday (stop by the Y for a monthly schedule)
- Potluck lunch and games every 3rd Thursday of the month- Breaking for summer, will resume in September

Get your group involved at the YMCA! Some YMCAs offer meeting space for local community groups. Check with your branch to see if you can host your club meetings at the YMCA.
The SilverSneakers® Fitness Program is a unique physical activity, lifestyle and social oriented program designed to encourage members to increase their levels of physical activity and motivate them to continue to be active. The program reflects senior sensitivity, promotes social interaction and encourages participation in healthy lifestyle activities.
Activate your urge for variety! Splash® offers fun, shallow-water moves to improve agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning. No swimming ability is required, and a special SilverSneakers® kickboard or other aquatic equipment is used to improve strength, balance and coordination.
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.
A safe and heart-healthy aerobics class to energize your active lifestyle using low-impact movements that focus specifically on building upper-body and core strength plus cardio endurance. This is a higher intensity class than Classic and Circuit.
Get stronger and improve your balance through exercises that strengthen the ankle, knee and hip joints, all in a fun and social setting. This class is designed specifically to help prevent falls.
Move your whole body through a completed series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increas flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Let’s Boogie! Come and have a kickin’ time with some basic but pure fun line dancing, salsa, and other groovin’ moves. A great workout for any age especially our Active Older Adults and those new or returning to exercise.
Allow your mind to become calm and more focused by transforming the negative to positive. Meditation enables you to overcome stress while finding inner peace and balance.
This specialty class is designed for the Active Older Adult or those who want to join the fitness-party for the first time. Zumba® at a slower pace but with ALL the fun!
