LIVESTRONG at the YMCA
Cancer is a life-changing disease that takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll on those affected. The Y and LIVESTRONG® have joined together to create LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a research-based physical activity and well-being program for cancer survivors and those currently undergoing treatment. The program focuses on you – the whole person – not the disease.
This free, 12-week program meets twice a week for 90 minutes, using traditional exercise methods to ease you back into fitness and help you maintain a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
Participants also learn about wellness, stress reduction and how to continue healthy habits after the program has ended. We encourage a warm spirit of community and provide a place for you to build friendships with others affected by cancer and an opportunity to share stories and inspiration.
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA staff are specially trained to work with cancer survivors and patients and follow American College of Sports Medicine and American Cancer Society exercise guidelines.

Come join the ride of your life! This non-impact endurance building class utilizes the stationary bike and will take you up hills and through a variety of drills. Water bottle and towel a must!
Classes contribute to a strong musculoskeletal system, increasing bone density, strengthening the connective tissue surrounding joints and also help you burn fat more efficiently. Our strength training programs will help you gain confidence by building muscle tone and help to maintain stamina during your daily life. This 45 minute class will utilize hand weights and bands for a total body workout.

Y Dance Cardio Classes
Ditch the workout, join the party! Zumba® is a combination of Latin and International dances such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Mambo and Samba among others that are not only FUN but exhilarating! The dance themes create a dynamic, exciting and effective workout that’s easy to follow. The routines are presented in aerobics/interval training format with fast and slow moves that get the heart pumping, tone your body and burn a ton of calories!
When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba® Toning raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba® moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs and thighs. Zumba® Toning is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies naturally while having a total blast.
Strengthen your mind, body and spirit as you lengthen, tone and relax your muscles. This class flows from one posture to another as you work on breathing techniques. Each class ends with relaxation.
