Swim Strokes (5-12 yrs old) Stages 4-6

Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional water safety skills and build stroke technique. Stage 4 introduces basic stroke technique in front crawl, back crawl and reinforces water safety through treading water and elementary backstroke. Participants must have mastered Stage 3 before starting Stage 4 lessons. Stage 5 introduces breaststroke and butterfly while refining technique on front crawl and back crawl. Participants are able to swim on their stomach and back for a length of the pool (25 yards) prior to attending this level. Stage 6 refining all strokes. Participants are able to swim front and back crawl with proper technique and can swim breaststroke and butterfly 15 yards prior to attending this level. Participants must master a stage prior to moving to the next stage. Classes do not exceed 1:8 instructor to participant ratio. Classes may be combined with other stages depending on the number of registrants.
