One of the most effective ways to accomplish this is to teach youth, teens, and adults to swim, so they can stay safe around water and learn the skills they need to make swimming a lifelong pursuit for staying healthy. Come learn to swim at the Y!

YMCA Summer STEAM Camp
STEAM Camp prepares today’s youth for tomorrow’s world. Campers will be challenged to question, explore, plan, discover, analyze, and understand the world through the lenses of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. At the Northwest Y’s STEAM Camp, experienced staff will use innovative projects, hands on experimentation, group & individual projects, and guided discovery to walk students through understanding components of the natural and technological world. Get ready to be inspired!
YMCA Camp Carter
Situated on 360 acres along the Trinity River, you’d never guess that YMCA Camp Carter is just minutes from downtown Fort Worth, with easy access to I-820 or I-30. Once here, campers get to experience the outdoors and make new friends, all while participating in activities such as archery, canoeing, high & low ropes, swimming and even horseback riding! Overnight camp is for ages 7-16, with weekly sessions running from Sunday afternoon until Friday evening. Campers live with their peers in fully climate-controlled cabins under the watchful eye of a highly trained counselor. Day camp is also available Monday – Friday for ages 5-12.
Sports at the Y are the starting point for many kiddos to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. And the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning a new skill or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about fostering good habits and helping our kids reach their full potential.
At the Y, we work every day to help kids set and achieve their personal and educational goals. As a result, millions of children and teens nationwide gain confidence as they recognize the Y as a place where they belong and can feel comfortable exploring new interests and passions.
