Ways to Get Involved

At the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth, volunteers are the champions fulfilling our mission of building healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We encourage all to take an active role in strengthening our community – whether through leading a program, serving as a mentor, raising annual funds or serving on a committee.

Volunteer advisory board members improve their local Ys by ensuring their Y is fiscally and operationally sound and welcoming to all.

Support and assist our sports directors, fellow coaches and kids while teaching children important life lessons that build character. All sports coaches and assistants must complete heads-up concussion training.

Corporate volunteer opportunities enable employees to use their leadership skills for the greater good, like organizing a clothing drive or distributing meals.

Help ensure your neighbors in need receive nourishing food by participating in food drives and mobile food distribution efforts as part of our Y Feeds Kids program.

As a mentor, you can provide encouragement and guidance to a youth or teen who needs support or has similar interests as you. Adult mentors ages 21+.

Youth and Government is a nation-wide YMCA program. It is a youth-lead leadership club for high school students to learn about the legislative and judicial branches and other components of Texas government.
