YMCA programs provide activities for teens that allow them to shape their values and discover their special talents. Teen programs are designed to take teens on a journey of discovery that encourages a life of community service with them as well. With an “asset-building” approach, teens can develop life-long skills and the understanding they the need to become successful in life.
The Southwest YMCA offers Teen Nights every Thursday during the summer. Teens ages 13-18 (YMCA Members & Non-Members), can hang out with friends, listen to music, swim at the outdoor pool, or play basketball, tennis or racquetball.
Youth & Government
Our teen programs like Youth and Government give students the opportunity to get a glimpse of how our government works from the inside. Students participate as model legislators, trial attorneys, government planners, office holders and members of the media. Our teen programs help build leadership skills, character development and individual growth.
