Since 1948, YMCA Camp Carter has been a trusted place where people connect, grow, and step into the outdoors, just 15 minutes from downtown Fort Worth. Set on 360 acres along the Trinity River, our camp feels worlds away while remaining deeply rooted in the YMCA’s mission of service, belonging, and community. From traditional summer overnight and day camps, and equestrian programs, to events, retreats, outdoor education field trips, and more, YMCA Camp Carter is an active, year round destination where meaningful experiences come to life every day.

YMCA Camp Carter is proudly ACA accredited and Praesidium certified, reflecting our commitment to nationally recognized standards for safety, supervision, and youth protection. Our staff undergo extensive training, follow rigorous safety protocols, and are prepared to respond to emergencies with care and professionalism. We also adhere to all applicable Texas state safety laws, including HB1/SB1, with detailed policies and procedures outlined in our program handbooks to ensure a safe, supportive environment for all.
