Specialty Day Camp Guide for Camp Carter

This quick guide to descriptions, dates, and drop-off schedules will help you plan the perfect summer for your Y Camper!

Specialty Day Camp allows campers to focus their time on a singular area of interest and build rich skills in either Waterfront or in CLIMB programs!

Need to know:

  • Daily drop-off: 7 – 8:30 am
  • Daily pick-up: 4 – 6 pm
Please bring a valid ID Only authorized adults with a valid ID can check campers out of day camp.

Please pack swimming suits/trunks, towels, wide-mouth refillable water bottles, sunscreen, and an easy-to-use backpack. Please leave all electronics at home!

CLIMB Camp for ages 7 – 12 years

Dates offered: June 3 – 7; June 17 – 21; July 1 – 5; July 15 – 19; July 29 – Aug. 2

Through the week our campers will develop and grow their climbing expertise, abilities, and knowledge by using Camp Carter’s climbing facilities, including Zipline, Rock Wall, Big Swing, Leap of Faith, and Alpine Tower. Campers also learn proper safety techniques and climbing protocols and they participate in a variety of team building and challenges to test their climbing abilities.


  • Challenge Course included for five days of programming
  • Teambuilding and low ropes initiatives and classes
  • Goal setting program
  • Swimming
  • Archery and Canoeing
  • Instruction and training on belaying, knot tying, and challenge course training
  • 4 core value challenge course award climb certificate

Waterfront Camp for ages 8 – 12 years

Dates offered: May 28 – 31; June 10 – 14; June 24 – 28; July 8 – 12; July 22 – 26; Aug. 5 – 9

The waterfront program will give campers a weeklong water experience. Campers will spend the majority of their day on the lake in different fashions. Our waterfront program is designed for all campers to grow in their 4 core values, an opportunity to cool off in our lake, and the chance to make memories of a lifetime!
