Got game? Hit the courts with the ones who invented the game – the Y! Children will have the opportunity to learn the basic volleyball fundamentals such as serving, setting, hitting and digging. Kevin McKinnon

Executive Director

Kevin McKinnon is the Executive Director for the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA. Kevin has been with the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth since July 2009. Kevin is in charge of the operational efficiency, facility maintenance & oversees the YMCA Corporate Cup Golf Tournament that supports the Downtown YMCA. Kevin also has a role with the association, leading the Evidence Based Health Interventions such as Diabetes Prevention Program, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, and YMCA Weight Loss Program. In his free time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, and watching anything Florida State University related.

Business Manager

Jime Dixon is the Business Manager for the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA and has been with the Downtown YMCA since April 2013. Prior to working for the Fort Worth YMCA Association, she has worked for the Houston YMCA and the Dallas YMCA making her YMCA career lasting over 20 years. Jime oversees the business office operations as well admin support for the Vice President of Operations. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family.

Senior Director of Member Engagement & Healthy Living

Kaylen Watson is the Senior Program Director of Healthy Living and Member Engagement for the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA. Kaylen has been with the Y since September of 2013 and directly supervises the membership and wellness staff. Kaylen strives to grow and offer programs that serve the Fort Worth community and focusing on improving overall well-being for all age groups. Kaylen is responsible for coordination of group exercise classes, member engagement activities, Y Weight Loss Program, Personal Training, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, Pedaling for Parkinson, and more. In her free time she enjoys being a mom and wife, spending time with family and friends, and exercising!

Shaye Fox

Shaye Fox

Program Director: Ella McFadden Early Learning Center

Shaye Fox is the Early Childhood Director for Ella McFadden Child Development center here at the Downtown YMCA. Shaye began working with the Downtown YMCA in 2014. She currently supervisors 10 full time staff and together they make a difference in 75-80 children’s and families lives throughout the year. Ella McFadden is proud to be a 4 Star Texas Rising Star Center and continues to partner with several other community organizations. Shaye just became a grandma to a baby girl and most weekends you will find her and her family at the ice rink watching her son play travel hockey.

Mechell Green

Mechell Green

Program Director: Amaka Early Learning Center

Mechell Green works with the Amon G. Carter, Jr. Downtown YMCA where she serves as Program Director for the Amaka Child Development Center. Mechell has been working in Early Childhood since 1982 and began her journey with the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth in September of 1991 with the Southeast YMCA as the Early Childhood Director. From there, she moved to the Downtown Y and ran an Early Childhood Program in collaboration with Radio Shack. Her journey continued as she returned to the Southeast YMCA as the Program Executive until 5 years ago when she was blessed to come run the Amaka Child Development Center. Mechell is all about community and wants to ensure that every child receives the best education no matter their economic background. She ensures that by the time every child leaves Amaka, they will be school ready. Mechell is very engaged with Camp Fire, FWISD, Early Childhood Matters, Parenting Center and a host of other organizations where she is able to fulfill her calling of serving others. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family, going to church, being engaged, going to the movies and getting out in the yard and listening to the birds.
